What It Means To Pledge
First and foremost, Delta Sigma Phi has a strict no-hazing policy. The purpose of our pledging process is to familiarize new members with the fraternity’s history, policies, and members. Our New Member Education program requires new members to attend study hours, fraternity education, chapter meetings, and certain fraternity events (socials, etc). While pledging does require some time commitment, it does not take up all of your free time and we work around academic and extra-curricular schedules. New members are expected to prove their interests and dedication by participating in fraternity events, working on pledge projects and by meeting and making new friends with the brothers.
Delta Sig is dedicated to community and campus involvement. Therefore, new members are encouraged to become involved in other campus activities and organizations. New members also attend a pledge retreat that has traditionally been a weekend at Lake Lanier or on St. George’s Island in Florida. Being yourself and having a good time is an integral part of Delta Sigma Phi’s pledging process.
